Hrmpf...I think most hooks going through bodily extremities are dangerous!!

Just be careful I think...I've never had a hook go thru me myself personally but like...be careful and it should be okay?

Dont grab the lure or whatever by the body when its swinging around just grab the line first and yeah, dont rush things

Ask Ritcho what its like to stick one right in and then have GeoffP perform on the spot surgery with a pair of unpliers. A highly unsavoury prospect!

Yeah it must hurt. My sis boyfirnd was going through me shed a year or so ago and I had a hook and line hangin up and he decided he would get it stuck i his finger and then YANK really hard on it and then scream NNNNNNAAAAAAATTTTTTTHHHHHAAAAAANNNNNN really loud. He ended up waiting in A&E for a couple of hours then the nurse pushed the hook back out the other side of his very swallen finger to get it out.

He still wont forgive me for that ehehehe

Hi,
That's one of the several positive reasons for using barbless hooks. You can still get pinned but they come out MUCH easier. They're much easier on the fish too.
Cheers,
Rigzz

yeah,
I had one go through the top of my finger once. It was blowing a gale and I wasn't paying attention. didnt want to go to the hospital as the fish were in a frenzy so I just pushed it strait back the way it came and kept fishing.

Hows this one then.

I was out in the boat one day ,it started pissing down ,so i went to reach for my coat and fell faward and tried to break my fall by putting my arm out and just so happened to grab hold of my rod .I felt an extreme pain in my arm ,had a glance ,and was in shock to see the sight of a set of filthy ganged hooks open me up to the bone from my wrist to my elbow.

Blood was screaming out everywhere, but the fishing was too hot,so i grabbed hold of the gangies with my teeth and proceeded to tear them out of my gashed up arm whilst still fishing and landing three bream in the process.!!!
So if you believe that story your mad.
I just wanted to go one better..

me and my old man were fishing at rocky point down south and this dude next to us got snagged on the rocks below. he was pulling on it real hard trying to get it to come loose. then all of a sudden it did and the float smashed my dads glasses and the bottom hook on the gang went through my dads ear lobe. i tell u what that bloke got sworn at a bit then the fool. any way managed to cut the barb end off with the pliers and extract the offending hook. true story

Yeah me and me dad went bream fishing in our marlin boat on the flats and anyway dad hooked this huge bream on marlin gear and the fish jumped clear out of the water and on the way back down it managed to get this treble stuck in his belly and allway his head went that way, and his guts went that way and all the gizzids acted as a berley trail and we got em into a frenzy and managed to hook into a few horses the first one was like farlap he was about 2 mtrs and he still ad the jocky on him to (hows that for luck) and the second one we had to let go, his name was edd and he talked allot so dad dragged him out of the livewell and chucked him back to trot another day.
And yes it's a true story it hapened to a friend, of a friend of mine.

chears, Nathan ehehehe

Oh yeah?

Once after a snag the hook went flying back at my face with a vengeance...but then I ducked and went 'woah...that was close'

Thats it for me
