RMG 35s & 52s

I'm interested in everyones thoughts on these lures as they are cheap and no-one seems to mention them much for Bream but I got absolutely smacked by a 33cm the other day on a 52std. 2nd best ever for me. Was I lucky or does everyone secretly carry a few of these in their tackle box?

I think they are still a great and legendary lure just been over shadowed by the more high-tech expensive/more detailed looking lures. I know many people that swear by them.

Scorp 52 Rainbow trout accounted for over 50 fish in one day at the Pole a couple of weeks back which was the best session I have ever had.The lure is now almost white as the lure has been hammered

Firstly its marketing, we have folks on here sponsored by all sorts of different lures and we see threads on what they have caught on the sponsors lures and then we see the follow on with the public useing them and posting, who is sponsored by Halco ? I see no threads,,

We all like to try and keep up with the Oswalds is another factor and need the shinest and prettiest lures going, Halcos are old hat,,

Having said that i have more Halcos than any other model and brought a 52 as recently as this arvo, i don't have the experience to know if they work as well as others but a sneaky scorpion 35 would hold its own against a lot of supa dupa Oswald priced lures IMO

On Edit > Just saw Jiggers post,,they are still smashing them by the looks,,

The 'sponsored angler bashing' is getting a bit tired IMO.

Even without them, it's the nature of the beast in any sport to want to try all the shiny things ne to the market. I'll give the new stuff at least a go, but still have a good number of tried and tested lures like Lip Rippers, Oar-Gees, Snap Shads and Halcos.

Even Halco have sponsored bream anglers, you just don't see them here much any more.

Long live Halco

Red and gold crawfish pattern for me is a slayer in rmg 52s and the laser pros and brown trout pattern also. I love it when you can feel a lure working its butt off for you and so do the bream.
Puts a lot of $20 plus lures to shame imo.

I dont think they are outdated.

Work better than their price and how they look

the only problems with them is they don't cast all that well, and the paint is prone to wear from use and being in a lure box.
