Wooden Lures

im thinking of makin my own lure out of wood how do i attach the line to it??????????
its gonna be a popper.

i made myself a 100 mm popper for tailor a couple a years ago and set it up by cutting a channel thru the wood and embedding a wire trace thru it with epoxy then putting a split ring on the trace at each end put a treble at the back and a swivel at the front. it worked great and the wooden fish swam like it was alive.
