Hi mate
You can pick up 385 explorers pretty cheaply, a bit of DIY and presto - instant bream boat. The previous owner of mine got the hull, motor and trailer all seperate and spent about $4k all up. I've added a front deck, a livewell (read: plumbed esky), electric motor, new outboard and a few other mod cons for not an awful lot of coin.

Really? Only 4k. And are they stable? Like at the front. Also aren't they similar to the hornets?

I was going to buy the 385 explorer for my first boat but ended up spending a little more and got the 385 explorer trophy , its a great little bream boat!
i got mine from boatsales.com fully decked out and spent 8 grand .. couldnt be happier. you could get a 385 explorer and deck it out yourself though and it would be cheaper. |

They are the little/poorer brother to the hornets. Very stable boats, a bloke I fish and myself - neither are small blokes - can stand up and cast lures with no problems at all. I can balance on the thwart/front deck and throw lures while driving the electric. so yes its stable.

So you think the explorer is the best option. Is it just me or do you catch alot more bream from a boat compared to wading or even the kayak?

I wouldn't even know where to start wading up here, my local system is a fairly muddy system with plenty of DohDohDohDoh - probaly not a great idea.
A yak is ok if you have the storage space for it, the ability to load/unload it from your vehicle, have a level of fitness to use the yak. I'd consider buying a yak; but the one i want is nearly 4k itself (when i checked it out). no point buying something similar to my tinny... So i'd reccomend buying something like the explorer; most boat makers have a rip off style model in their range, some might be a bit cheaper.

I got a yak I got two actually. But I don't seem to pin any good bream on it. And my Haines signature can't be fitted out for bream fishing because it's a half cab. That's why I want to upgrade to a tinny and im moving house next to the water.
