Reel to suit Pflueger Trion 2-4kg 7 foot rod

Hey,

What would be the best reel around the >$200 mark to suit a Pflueger Trion 2-4kg, 7 foot rod? ill be using it mostly for bream (docks, yarra, maribyrnong river).

Iv got my mind set on getting the Stradic Ci4, but should i get the 1000 or 2500? is it only the spool size that is bigger, or is the "whole" reel physically larger?

Get the 2500 I have a 7foot 2" 2-kg Raider and the 2500 goes very nicely with it.

Best thing would be to take the rod into a tackle store and try the 1000 and the 2500 and see what you like.

1000's are far smaller than a 2500 and quite a bit lighter too. You're near certain to find that one will be a far better match for your rod than the other... My bet would 100% go to the 2500 feeling like the better reel on that rod.

I think just about any 2000 size reel would fit the bill nicely, but my Shimano Stradic CI4 in the 2500 size feels very nice on my Pfleuger Trion 2 - 4 kg rod, because it's lighter than most other reels of this size.

I also have a Stradic CI4 in the 1000 size which I use on my 6'6'' 1-3kg stick, which it is more suited to.

not at all, it is quite small.

check it out at your local tackle store and you will see what everyone means.

they are great little reels, I just might have to buy one myself.
