Reel to suit Pflueger Trion 2-4kg 7 foot rod
Hey,
What would be the best reel around the >$200 mark to suit a Pflueger Trion 2-4kg, 7 foot rod? ill be using it mostly for bream (docks, yarra, maribyrnong river). Thanks.

Iv got my mind set on getting the Stradic Ci4, but should i get the 1000 or 2500? is it only the spool size that is bigger, or is the "whole" reel physically larger?

Best thing would be to take the rod into a tackle store and try the 1000 and the 2500 and see what you like.

1000's are far smaller than a 2500 and quite a bit lighter too. You're near certain to find that one will be a far better match for your rod than the other... My bet would 100% go to the 2500 feeling like the better reel on that rod.

I think just about any 2000 size reel would fit the bill nicely, but my Shimano Stradic CI4 in the 2500 size feels very nice on my Pfleuger Trion 2 - 4 kg rod, because it's lighter than most other reels of this size.
I also have a Stradic CI4 in the 1000 size which I use on my 6'6'' 1-3kg stick, which it is more suited to. Mick |
