Organising/Keeping in good condition - Hard bodies

I normally just put my HB in my tackle box.. all in their seperate space. Sometimes i find that there own hooks can do some damage whilst carrying the tackle box around in a backpack (especially the matte finish).

Does anyone here use a certain box they find helping.. a foam or a different kind of storage method?

Cheers guys
Pat

I just cut some foam up and put it in the compartments to that it stops em moving round. Also the hook keeper/covers stop that wear ring around the trebles

Hunt down a Plano 3714 flipsider box and melt/cut 2 slits in each compartment for the trebles. 48 lures per box then.

Chubby's are a tight squeeze and Khamsin JR DR's are to big... Other than that, perfect

i use a plano 3714 flipsider storage box like what Ben K uses in this thread except i only store 2 lures in the one compartment.

http://www.breammaster.com/forum/sho...ighlight=plano

i havent found any problems with the finish rubbing off but they are a bit hard to get a hold of. i got the last one they had in stock at my local DohDohDoh and they havent got any more in as yet.

to get more than one lure in you need to mod the box by making extra slots, a little time but easy to do and holds lures well

I do alot of short, sharp sessions after work and I tend to structure them around specific spots where I have a plan on what lures will be required.

If they cant fit in the front left pocket of a tradies tool belt - they get left behind.

As I dont pay much (serious) attention to colour or brand. I can fit 3 bibbed minnows - 3 blades - 3 vibes - and a small assortment of jigheads and plastics in that pocket

If I lose a couple - I go to the "Vault" and replace with fresh ones I bought on sale

Carrying more lures in the field, just meant I had more with rusted trebles

Shimano used to make awesome hb boxes but dont anymore. But I did find another one just the other day so now I have 2. Soon as I get home, I can start to separate all my hards again.

Yeah its a modular system - Its a rare day when something isnt removed/added

Scissors and leader - outer left
Lures - inner left
Darts - outer right
Camera - inner right
Small needle nose - side right
Large needle nose - side left
Hands Free rod holder - side right and left
Drink Bottle Holder - Back right

Optional extra's depending on species....
Boga grip clip - side left
Hand Gaff clip - side left
Measuring tape - front and centre

I've tried every other land based tackle storage system known to man. The open pocket tool belt may make you look like a tool - but it suits the majority of my needs more often than other methods I've tried

Man, that is gold. I love it. I think your right about the idea for a few reasons. Whenever i take to much tackle land based i always find it's a hassle, and i wouldn't use even a quarter of the amount i bring.

And the other reason i suppose in taking less gear is you force yourself to persist with a specific style/lure , which usually results in you learning more stuff.
