Twinpower reel.....gone!!!!

hey everyone, got new new 2011 shimano catalogue book today and realised that the twinpower (FC)has been cut out
does anyone know if they are bringing something else out around that price range in a high speed reel (6000- 10000) or smaller bream and light offshore reels to replace them
only after a high speed reel in a 6000 or bigger to a 10000.....dont have quite enough money yet so i was saving to get one but they cut it

thanks in advance
Nic

Twinpower is a long-life series just like the Stella and has already been for more than 10 years so I can assure you that Shimano would not cut it, but it is not nessasary for them to release a new model every year.

Check it yourselt, there are huge range of new reels released and some are near the twinpower price range. But most of them are just not released in oversea markets.

Yes Nic,

The smaller Twinpower has been chopped from the latest Shimano 2011 Australian catalogue, there are plenty of the FC version in the shops if you ring around, no news yet on any models between the Stella and Sustain, so if you want a Japan built locally sold 1000 or 2500 Shimano reel you have to buy a Stella, save your dollars! As for the bigger reels, sorry cant help you there.

Hi Nic, Yeah I have noticed this too. I have to say I am very keen on a another twinpower reel myself. My last one feel in the drink and was lost for good I have had a few reels since, but have to say it was one of my all time favourites!

yeah i have seen the twinpower ci4 but when i saw them it only came in smaller sizes, but the twinpower fc is just a great reel and so smooth aswell

i was talking to a guy at a tackle world and said not to bother with the sw's cause they are not worth the money and spend the bit extra for a stella

i might just have to go and get the fc while its around.......still might get the sw though not quite sure

thanks for the help
much appreciated
Nic

the sw is from memory $800 or around that, and sizes only in 5000, 8000, 10000 cause im only after a big reel anyway so thats why i was lokking at the 60000 and 10000 FC, so not after a smal bream reel

I've got the new 2011 twinpower from Japan, though not the FC. I think that Shimano Australia and their distributors are possibly waiting for their old stock to be sold. So its probably going to take a while for the reel to be released here.
I remember a similar thing occurring when a friend of mine got the new stella a year before Shimano Australia released it.
