Lake Burley Griffin Please Help
Hi guys,
Am visiting the Nation's Capital next week and will have limited free time Sunday morning and Tuesday afternoon. I am thinking about bringing a light baitcasting travel rod to see if I can get amongst some natives or do my bit to control the Redfin population. Any natives will be handled with care and returned to fight another day. I appreciate locals will fiercely guard secret spots but general advice on places, lures and techniques to try. I had thought about engaging the services of a guide but couldn't find one. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Was that shore based? How much do the blades weigh?

Blades are definately the go for redfin although they'll go after just about anything.
Heaps of snagging so I recommend using doubles instead of trebles. Any size blade up to about 2 inches will do the job and you might get lucky and pull a yellow. LBG is a tough gig though. I've been fishing it for a long time and it is inconsistant at best. Every now and then when I'm about to give up on it for good I pull an amazing fish, but it's few and far between. |
