Getting motor back into action

I haven't used my boat for about 4 months and was wondering if there was anything I should do with the motor to get rid of old fuel and any crap that might have built up? Have got some additive that I will start using going forward but is there anything else I should do? Motor is a 40 yamaha 4 stroke.

Cheers
Darren

I would also clean out your fuel lines if possible. the fuel can go like jelly afetr time which when it gets to the carby, will stop it and then its a bigger job

if you didn't disconnect the fuel line and run all the fuel out of the carbies there might be some reside build up. maybe add some addative if it has trouble starting. the last thing you want to fork out for is a carby rebuild - its big time & dollars.

Personally I would top up the tank with premium unleaded and get out there and give it a run.
