Has anyone tried the HUMBUG MINNOW?
On the river2sea website, go to "Plastic Plug Minnow" then the "HUMBUG MINNOW" link at the top. |

Hi David
Mim and I have a couple of Humbugs. It's a shallow running lure that rolls with a swaggle when run slow. I find it good in water around the 2ft mark. Now that may seem like a strang statement seeing as I have the Min65F which is meant to be good for 0.5 to 1.5m but unfortunately you need to crank it really hard to keep it down, it rises fairly fast. I even thought about doing one of the Tailor sessions at Carnarvon with one but got too carried away on the Trev's and Soapies. Last edited by madsurfe; 03-09-2003 at 10:58 AM. |

these work well if you wrap a couple of coils of soldering wire aroung the front treble
makes the lure rise a lot slower and doesnt take too much action away

hi david,
I use these lures down south & I found the dd`s to have a better action & catch rate, might have something to do with the suspension qualities, shimmering glitter green is going off for me at the moment, gold a bit more summer down here.catchya |

ive been using the humbug minnows baby brother.. its a smaller lure, bout 2.5cm long, tiny lil bloody thing a small shallow diver, goes down about 1.5ft and has a double hook in the ass of it, no trebles or splitrings, and bloody deadly on anything that swims buy and see's it

about $11 i think, ive got about 8 of them now, white is still my favorite tho, real big bream thriller, it represents floating bread really well and you see how aggressive bream can really be. with upto 10 of them all smashing the 1 lure

should be able to cast it on any 6'6 rod with 4lb line and a small spinning reel, wont get a ton of distance.. but its heavy enuf to cast a fair way for its size
