ENDURA 30

So im thinking an endura 30 may suit my 3.2 v-nose punt, transome mounted.

does anyone have this type of set up ,,,and whats a transome mount like to use, does this mean all lure casting has to be done from the rear of the boat .

Any thoughts or opinions about the pros and cons of this set up??????

Spin doctor. I used to have a transom mount electric, and while they are better than no electric at all, they can be very frustrating at times. If the wind is blowing, you have to constantly adjust them which means using your hand and thus stopping fishing for a few secs.

That can get very annoying, and if it is windy means you can't fish properly all. You will need to stand close to it as you will be constantly having to adjust it.

A bow mount is the best (actually it is the fact that they are foot controlled that makes them good - leaves hands free for fishing), but of course it will cost you a lot more money. You could look at the motorguide bowmounts if you want to save some dollars though. The are much cheaper than MK's, and still not a bad motor.

As for power, I imagine a 30lb model would be ok for your dingy. Always go as high as you can, but 30 should be reasonable.

Cheers
James

Just returned from USA recently, Min Kota have released a remote control that clips on to your rod just above the reel seat. It is about the size of the small computers on push bikes and is controlled with your thumb. Awesome invention, no idea on when they will be released over here but they will be a huge change to what we currently know.

Thanks jimi,

I was out today ,must have been blowin 45 knots and the boat was a slave to the wind.
I Must have give my wife the shits, winging my guts out till she yelled "SHUT UP!!" "IM SICK OF THE MINN KOTA DohDohDohDoh" "JUST FISH WILL YA!!

This turned my frustration to laughter,so i only winged half as much then.

You got to wear these women down when you want to dip into the bikki tin for yet another accessorie for the boat.

They say the squikiest hinge gets the most oil!!

Back to the minn kota Jimmi, having to stuff around with a transome mount continually, would eventually get to me,pedal power sounds like the way to go

I have a transom mount Min Kota 40 on my 12 topper.
Although I had to sleep in the car when I first bought it, the boss now thinks its the best thing since sliced bread. I have even heard her tell anyone who will listen how great it is, "Oh you haven't got an electric?"
I suppose it was a good idea of her's to get it.
My point here is that I would recommend that a bow mount with variable speed ( not 5 forward / 3 reverse) is the way to go with this most essential component. I don't consider it an accessory.
Yours
Bob the converted.

imust agree with Jimi, a transom mount electric is frustrating. getting into position and cast from the bow, only to have to get back to stern to reposition, using the electric. Got me a bowmount with foot control nice!

Can you get a variable speed minn kota on a 40lb or less , it sounds like a good idea as I am going to get a transome mount minn and get a mount welded on the bow turn the minn 180 ,and do it all from the front of the boat, this also reduces the wind getting under the boat ,this is within my price range at the moment.

I think this may be the best way to go about it...

Will...
