I mainly use sugarpens for bass, for that, the trebles are mad. Although IMO a bit big for bream, so it can depend on what your using it for too.

The only ones i ditch straight out are Chubbies! All the others i wait till i've at least got a bit of corrosion or a straightened shank.

I go down a size of Owners on lures like Sugapens, (keep the bigger hooks for trevally or bass) Sammy's, CK40's, Fat Ones.

Mick.

its a bit rude when you pay 20-25 bucks for a lure ,then you have to replace the hooks before you use the thing!
i always replace with those black Owners.nice and sharp and strong.
cheers

I keep the standard hooks for social fishing, but would change them to super sharp/sticky st11's for more serious fishing. I've had no problems with the originals..

I've no doubt that in the right hands - st11's are the business.

In my hands they straighten alot. I know exactly why they straighten. Its because I hate losing lures. I use 8lb leaders and crank up the drag for alot of the fishing I do.

I cant bring myself to use a drag setting that lets the st11's do their best work.

I dont mind using them on sluggish winter bream but if its summer and I'm near a pylon - Its 36ers

My post doesnt contradict Forsterfisho's in any way - just dont use the 11's if you have a tendancy to lean hard on fish

Looks like a textbook Bream extraction there Laz, You can put hurt on a fish with the UL's but only if all 3 hooks stick in the corner of the mouth.
