Help 3" grubs
Can someone tell me what size jig do you use for a 3"grub,does it have to have the point come out where the tail joins the body does the hook have to be longer. because of size of the grub?

I still use the same weights (1/16, 1/32) or just a worm hook with no weight. A size 1 hook in the jig is O.K.
I figure if a fish has the balls to take a bigger plastic, they're going to do a proper job of it Agressive fish like to take their prey from the side, towards the head. Realistically, it shouldn't matter too much about the hook size, and if you're gettin short strikes switch back to a smaller grub Cheers,

Yes its just that in previous post people have said the hook should come out where the tail starts and body finishes and with it being longer I thought you would need a longer hook or jig.

Mate, do a search of some U.S. Bass sites and you'll find a million different ways to rig plastics, it's funny seeing a 6 inch plastic 'lizard' imitation rigged Texas style, and the hook point comes out just behind the 'lizards' head

Most of my plastics fishing is done with a gama round 211. They have no shank at all, and start curving as soon as they come out of the jig head. Still get plenty of hookup's
As Dave said, have a look at the bass rigging techniques. You'll be surprised that some of them even catch fish. Warren.
