thats a bowrider isn't it?? I personally hate bowriders to cramped unless you get a 6 metre one - silly windscreen in the middle takes up soooo much room. Go a Quintrex Topender, Makocraft Frenzy or Trailcraft Profish.

Depends on what you're looking at from a boat. I have a 525 Easy Rider but its not just a "fishing only" boat, but does a good job at this also.
If you want an "all rounder" type of boat as I did, so you can have lesuire days with the family towing tubes etc or just out crusing on the water, they are a great boat and I'd highly recommend one. The kids love it up in the bow section and is alot more comforatable there than sitting on the rear bench. You can also keep a eye on them up there if you have small kids like myself, youngest is just under 3. They are a stable boat that handles quite well and gives you quite a smooth ride for a tinnie. Towing it with a standard family sedan isnt an issue either as it wieghs approx 800kg with trailer and all. The only complaint I have with mine is the canopy. Mine has the one that starts from the windscreen and goes back so you cant stand underneath it at the helm, unless you un-zip the centre section of the canopy. I'm currently looking at changing this to a bimni that is raised above the windscren to address this issue. You can also get clears to fill the gap between windscreen and bimni to block out the wind if need be. Fishing from it is not an issue either whether you're drowning bait or flicking lures. Most of them have a fill in board for the bow section up front that converts the whole area to a casting deck and has ample room for a couple of people up front and the back if you have to ![]() One thing I did notice when looking for one though is anything under 5m is a little bit crammed at the back but become more roomy from 5m and up. I had a look at a 6m model and they are a huge boat that have enough room for cart wheels if you're keen !!! Massive unit, both in length and beam. My 525 has a 2.4m beam where my mates 6.2m offshore Swift Craft has a 2.2m beam. Sorry bout the rant, but hope this helps. Last edited by Tonka-T; 16-07-2010 at 04:21 AM. |

with a 115hp the thing would fly !!! I have a 90hp and it gets up to 55km/h on the water, so the 115hp would really move.
What year is the hull ?? This type of boat is extreamly popular, be it the Easy Riders or Quintrex Freedom Sport and tend to hold their price pretty well. More so than alot of othere boats. I got mine in November last year, 2001 model hull and motor. Motor is a Johnson V4 and had only done 35hrs !!! One owner and looked pretty much new as it hadnt been used and hence the owner decided to sell it. I manged to bargain down the owner to 20k but you will notice that once you get up past the 5m mark, you get a decent price jump to go with it
