Blue Fin Boats?

Can any one help me out?
While looking around at boats to upgrade my 12' tinny, a sales man handed me a brocher for Blue Fin boats. The pictures look nice BUT......I've never heard of them.
The boat I'm looking for is c/console not strictly for breamin and around 4.5 to 5m, they have 4.5 predator, 4.5 barracouda and the 5m cobia. Built in Queensland.
I'm in W.A, any and all opinions greatly apprieciated.
Maybe I should just visit Millards?

I read a review on them in qfm (queensland fishing monthly)
They have a website which has most off the boat reviews on it i think, the review said good things about them.

Hi Grunter, I live in QLD, and can tell you Blue Fin are quite good. you might like to check these out as well http://www.cairnscustomcraft.com/ when it comes to plate boats these are number one and are the bench mark for all plate boats.

Lots of boats to check out and a lot has to do with your budget. For what it's worth, a few I'd look at are:

Trailcraft Profish
Stessl Angler and Tournament
Poly Craft
Galvins Custom Boats (Broome)

The big thing to do is shop around and get out with a few og the guys to see how their hulls perform. That's why I do the boaters days.

If you're looking at around the $25,000 mark, then I would also look at the Stessl Stinger. 4mm bum, 3mm sides, 4.8 length, 2.8 wide tri hull. For that price you also get full live wells, Hummin Bird 450TX sounder, Minn Kota, sports console, chairs and 50hp Honda.

It won Modern Boatings power boat of the year. Well worth a look.

Bear, the trailcraft profish has caught my eye as a fairly good option, and it seems to be good value compared with say a quinny of the same size and fit, an idea of the draft on some of these boats would be handy too. I mainly bream fish in the Murry ( cos it's local), so its not a big problem. At times fishing the estuary flats, it could be, but I'm willing to wear that.
Samurai, do you know if Blue Fin have a web site as I haven't been able to spot one. The boat looks nice 'n' all but they seem to lack on options, the essential fishing extras, esky,drink holders etc, etc. I might just email them to find out, if no web site.
Bear, where do you hold your boatie days?

We usually run out from Coode st and I probably won't change for this one either as we do get a good turnout. Last big one was 13+ boats.

I actually find the Trailcraft a little more expensive than some others, but their finish is second to none.

Thats intresting Bear as it was a shite load cheaper than the Quinny stables down the road.....I wonder what I'm missing?

I was not including Quinny's in that statement, should have clarified myself. Most of my experiences have been with the Stessls, Stesco, Savage etc. When you look at the price you're paying for something like the Stinger, there is a huge difference.

Having said that, they are also one of the best finished boats on the market IMO.

I think a lot of it has to do with the size of craft and the dealer. Mark does do a good price for the guys and I have not yet been to him about some of the bigger Quinny's, but when I look at the prices of the 445 and larger, there does seem to be a difference.

Again, a lot has to do with what you want in a boat.

The main thing you have to do when buying your boats is compare apples with apples... I sold many boats now to the bream guys and gals and many of the guys were under the perception that they couldnt afford it...I can asure you with option for option and performance to performance quinnie wont be way more money....They are sold in USA to Europe , New Zealand and Asia and have "WON" 6 out of the last 9 nine year with the "alumnium boat of the year"...There the premier selling boat in Australia....Lets face it if they didnt perform, have unique features , loads of options and werent the right price they wouldnt sell...

Have read some reviews on these boats and they seem to get the thumbs up in terms of value for money to performance. They are one of the most reasonable plate boats on the market.
