Ecogear SX40 would just pip out a Jackall chubbie SR.
Cheap lure for racks i dont mind giving to the bream gods would be a smiling jack in pink.

If you have a favourite floater or suspender - you can turn it into a slow sinker by using heavier split rings.

We had a day when we needed a very slow sinking Hb to get a hit. Chucking on heavier split rings, to a suspending lure, turned it into a slow sinker and that made the difference. (But that was on natural snags where you didnt want to pull the lure too far from where it landed)

Or you can just buy slow sinking lures But to twitch and keep the lure close to the snag - a slow sinker can be handy.

bay islands and redcliffe reefs, but anywhere ive used them they produce, bought another handfull of them today they are too good, in trouble when the tiny version hits the shelves

mainly fish flats but between the mrs and i the sx-40's have produced and i personaly like the zipbaits khamsins even though they are more xpensive will be trying a heap of other lure brands soon

i recommend luckly craft tango (green,gold,orange) i've used two times and need to replace the back hook; the bream around gladstone just love it!

I used bigger hooks to make lures sink, but they sink too fast

bigger hooks arent the best way to suspend/sink a lure as you may retard the action of the lure, trebles put a suprising amount of drag on the lures swimming action so too big a treble will kill it

The hooks i used weren't intirely bigger hooks, they were just higher gaige hooks rather than the thin gaige hooks it previously had. And the IMO i think the swimming action is better
