Barra outfit??
im off to darwin in may for some fishing and need an outfit for barra and jew fishing with lures,I have no idea what im looking for but i have seen most people using overhead reels. What size rod and reel should i be looking for? if i cand get a combo to do both barra and jewies that would be great.
Looking around the $500 and less and want a 2 piece rod for traveling. Cheers DJ |

Not sure about the reel but I just took ownership of a Daiwa wilderness 3 piece rod (spin) and they come in either a 2-8lb spin, 8-17lb spin, 6-10lb baitcast or 10-20lb baitcast. They certainly feel strong and cast heavier lures well in the spin version. Since they are relatively new they are a little hard to find in tackle stores but worth asking around for a look at one. Oh they are a 7 foot rod. so break down to 3, 2foot 4 inch pieces which can fit in a suitcase...
