Dodgy Gama round 29's
I tried the Gama Round 29's (hook size 6) (type f) for the first time last week,
Can report that i won't be buying another pack Apart from hooks bending very easily, i had one jig clean snap as i was lifting a fish from the water.... I reckon that the wire is too thin for breamskies..... Just wondering if other ppl have tried this jig and what results they had Personally, ill be sticking to the other gamas in futures.... scott |

yeah I agree with ya scott
I use round 29 becoz of the length of shank but it bends too easily. they also have soft hook point. The point bends with just ur fingernail. I have a few that have snapped. I'm now using 211 or the other brands. Nitro jig hooks are also Gama's, are they?? |

I had them bend on me as well. I was fishing on Sunday using my normal squidgy heads and decided to change to the gama's to test them out. Got a just legal bream on and was just holding it near the surface to tire out a bit and the hook straightened very easily. I reckon if the hook held and I tried to lift the fish it would have snapped as well.

In fairness I don't think you can expect too much from a N0.6 hook. There is no way in the world I would attempt to lift any decent fish on a No.4 let alone a N0.6. The wire is very thin & the heat from the molten lead can affect the temper in that area & cause weakness or breakages. I have taken a few on them but you have to use such light drag & go so easy on the fish to avoid bending them I use them as a last resort when the fish are real spooky.
Thats my 2 bobs worth anyway. |

iIve used the gama round 29 and havent had any problems at all with them. I've caught fat bream around the 1kg mark on them and flatties to 2kg and no problems at all.
