Homemade jigs?

Hiya...

I know you can do it, and buy the moulds and such. But is it very cost effective? Getting a bit tired of donating all my jigs and SP to the Swan river. So for someone like me who goes through a pack of jigs about every 2 sessions would it be more sensible for me to make my own? Also where would I scored the gear to do it?

...Cheers

Shane

Shane,

Have you tried using weedless jigs?

There are probably two ways to do it: -

1. Handmade jigs with mustard aberdeens, splitshots, superglue, single stand wire (for keeper) and pliers.

2. The do-it moulds

Check past threads there's been some good explainations on here before. Your local tackle store should be able to get the moulds for you....in the longer run they definately pay for themselves

Hiya...

Weedless is just the hook isnt it? You wouldnt get much of a casting range on that would you?

There are weedless hooks (owner) that have lead attached already...1/8th, 1/16th, 1/32th.

But you can by the weedless (or worm) hook with out lead and attach a spit shot to the line or a sliding small sinker.

There are heaps of techniques...try drop shotting or texas rigging, or carolina rigging...they are bass techniques that are definaetly applicable for bream...
