Ride in Polycraft " Kermit"
With thanks to Brad Young - I went for a tour around the Bundaberg competition area on Saturday. More in the competition area.
As for the 4.1 Poly, 40 hp 4st fitted out as a comp boat - live well empty and 3 persons it went very well. I only have a Hornet 4m / 50 hp to compare in recent experience. The Polycraft was considerably quieter, and slighlty better balanced when standing and casting. It did not seem as fast - but the 10hp difference and the quiet hull maybe made a difference to my perception. The hull is quiet and soft - bumping into poles and hard water was not a jaring experience. At speed there was a very slight "flex" in the hull. Not a lot - and something I should have expected given it is not such a stiff, bone rattling hull as a tinnie My only concern is safe rod storage. While moving about taking photographs I broke a rod tip - my first ever so now I am senstive to this issue. A vertical rack astride the side console would be ok - but not when trailering. So I came out very positive - just looking for more space for rods. |
