Merc Gear Oil

G'day,

Just enquiring to see if anyone has any information about what brand and vicsocity of gear oil I should be running in my 1997 Mariner 15hp 2str.

What impeller kit is needed for this motor?

Also should I be running Quiksilver oil as part of the 50:1 ratio?

Nick

Hi There,
Best bet would be to take the impeller out and take it to your local Mercury/Mariner dealer.
As for gear box oil i would be using Quicksilver oil as that's what most of the Mercury/Mariner dealers recommend.
For the 2stroke oil any oil will work long as it is TCW-3 you will find most outboard motor oil is TCW-3
