surface know how
I just bought my first towadi today and went with a white and yellow belly lure,i have heaps of prawn type surface lures in shape and colour but noticed a lot of the fish caught on the walkers are on a distinctly coloured lure.
So.... what i'm asking is did i make a good choice or am i way off beam on this. thanks for any responses ![]() cheers nereus

any towadi will work. Just cast it out and work it back and you'll get hits but little flutters and long pauses will get you more.

Each to their own mate. I like the more clearer colours some like the black or darker ones.
Just try what you have and pick a fave from them. Also , the warmer months are better. Mick |

Although colour is very important, I think the brightness of the colour matters more than the colour itself (if that makes sense lol) good rule of thumb for surface fishing; bright day: bright flashy colours.. Morning/Arvo/Cloudy: darker colours. Night: darkest colours or just black to create a defined silhouette.

Yellow is the most popular colour in some of the surface lures we do, so you made a good colour choice there

Thanks for your opinions fellas, yeah the only reason i can see why a brightly coloured lure might work(we shall see) on the surface is that bream predominatly hang down down a bit in the water column and a bright lure has enough contrast to bring them up to the surface, once committed to the chase i'm hoping they can't resist.
