Scorpian 35

I just bought a Halco Scorpian 35 in gold croem and orange.
I know the "Sneaky" model floats slowly my one sinks pretty fast does this really matter???

I cant seem to find the "Sneaky" Version lol.
but are the 35 scorpians still a good lure and im goin to be fishing Geelong next weekend does any body know if there are bream around there and if not are there any other type of fish that will take the 35 scorpian gold orange???

Oh and i allready thought of taking the hook closest to the bib off but i need the extra wait to cast as my cheapo rod outfit isnt exsactly totaly light wait friendly.but i spose i could try to take it off and see how it goes.

Any advise would be muchly apreciated!!!!!

Dagga if you using a snap swivel then the lure will more than likely sink. They were designed to be fished with a loop knot. If you remove the belly hook and ring it may slow the sink rate, allowing you to still use a snap. I use snap swivels on all my lures as I prefer them to sink.

Dagga,
to make a sinking scorpion a floating one, leave the front treble on, and take off the split ring and the metal bit off the bib. Then drill a small hole in the bib between the lure nose and the empty slot in the bib. Then attach the lure by threading the line through the new hole and tie on a small plastic bead. It's a bit of work but works pretty good. You can do the same bead thing through the existing slot but the lure wont dive as deep and wont swim as well.

ok so the bead acts as a stopper so the line doesnt just go threw makes sence thanks ill see if i have the guts to tamper with it.

i stuffed around with these guys a bit and iv found that if you heat up the bib with a lighter on the kink, you can bend the bib a bit flatter. i heat it up till it just starts going soft then use pliers flaten it out wile its hot, its allmost imposibul to get perfectly flat but you can get close to it. this helps it get down a bit more and narrows the wobble a bit. i use 16 owners st36's and remove the metel and the split ring on the bib (like the other guys) and use the beed as well but iv never tryed drilling a nother hole, iv just used the exsisting slot. its a killa on cod and flathead just on the slow role, got me a few bream too with it but as allways when ya finaly get the lure just right a cod steels it.
