Don't be scared to use big plastics, 3inch grubs have been working with 1/16 jig heads, YUM craws(2.5inch I think) in black with a heavy jig head caught me my pb the other day. I'll be experimenting with the 3inch grubs when the conditions permit.
Think outside the square and if it works, share.

3" Atomic grubs work for me Salty. Big lure, big fish, or at least thats the theory

I've been using larger plastics a lot lately & I've been getting a better class of fish with them for sure. I find the bream hit them more agressively as well. I have mainly been using Ecogear Tank S (2.5) & Sliders both 2.5 in pumpkinseed & 3 inch camo.

anybody tried the bassproshop caterpillar grubs here?
they are outstanding and are surprisingly tough but soft because of all the little protrusions. come scented and salted but unfortunately are a little larger than yer standard grub - 3 inchers breammaster shop must get them in cause im sure.... no ....adamant that these things will be dynamite! there is also a yellow orange colour which is pretty but would probably just catch the angler and not the fish

Hey Paul, good work on the PB, what did it go?
I'm always trying out different things, big plastics being one of them and I've had some great success. As some of the other guys mentioned, the bigger plastics tend to pull not as many fish..but better quality fish. I've had most of my success with big hybrid plastics such as 3 inch Sliders spliced with YUM beaver tails, and Ecogear etc..some of which ended up being larger than 3 inches. Tasty stuff indeed.. |

Hah, high tech equipment such as: a lighter. :-)
Nothing special mate, just whatever melts/holds them together, I just stick with melting them instead of using glue. Cheers |

Thanks mitch, it measured 42 and don't know the weight, probably around 8 or 9 kilos.
And to Geoff P. I'm not to sure if the bream community is ready for the experimental and extremely dangerous world of POWER FISHING™. Hopefully there won't be too many lives lost.......
