Super glued knot

When tying fireline to mono does anyone use a drop of super glue? Will this degrade the line due to a chemical reaction?

I don't use superglue and I don't think it is a good idea.
I'm sure I read at the back of one of Geoff Wilson's knot books (the Braid/Dacron one I think) that he did some tests and glued some knots. All the glued knots failed at a lower breaking strain than identically tied knots that weren't glued.

Fireline and Superglue

Jelly...
I have used Superglue for quite a while now when joining 4lb Fireline and either Mono or Flourocarbon. It has had no effect on the knot strength and believe it has helped me land some honkers. All leader breaks have been where the leader has been damaged due to rubbing or scuffing.......

So.....you will have to make up your own mind I guess.

Bubble.
