Loch Sport advice
I'm heading off to Loch Sport in a few days. Thought that I might have a crack at the bream in the straight. Any one out there tried before in that area? I'm looking for some advice. Should I fish the main lake, the straight or both. I've caught plenty of bream there before on bait, but I'm keen to have a go with the sp's.

In the straights use Atomic SP in say motor oil or the like near the nags on the edges, let it drop infront of them, (if you in a boat) then pull them to you, I'v seen the biggest fish caught there with this method. It can be slow at times and its had lots of fishing of late.
they were getting bream and big EP's good luck! if all else fails grab some worms

G'day guys, sorry it has taken so long to post this report. My modem on the notebook has died and today is my first day back at work.
The straight was dead. Fished it on Sun 6th/Mon7th. resorted to bait in the end. Sandworms resulted in heaps of mullet and tiny bream. Good fun trying to get them in before the Pelicans got them. The surf was supposed to be going off according to all the local reports. Unfortunately the weather was so calm,it made the fishing easy but useless as there was next to nothing around. We got 1 gummy on the Sunday night and heaps of sleepies/leopard sharks as well as many DohDohDohDoh. Very frustrating overall. The next day we got some small trevalley, sleepies and DohDohDohDoh. A disapointing few days in general. We did however see the hugest school of mullet feeding under the bridge to the surfbeach. It was great to watch them schooling and feeding. We didn't fish as we thought it'd be a little too easy and unfair. Hope you guys do better. Mike_L

the bridge over lake Reeve do you mean?
often that is dry as a bone... or atleast it looks dry often there is car tracks out there and just as often that hard looking salt lake is soft under the crust heheh hence often a car stuck therewhere did you stay down there? I used to live there but havn't been back for some time. Might give it a fish when it warms up. I have only ever had luck with sandworm in the lake, and also on the surf altho they snap of the hook very easy in the rough (pumped my own to save $) |

Yeah, I've seen that lake close to empty as well. It was about a foot deep and about two feet under the bridge.
We stayed in a holiday shack that a friend owns so we were pretty lucky to be able to use that. There is a good resort called the 90 mile retreat that is right on the beach in a good quiet area. It's on track 10 I think. It's sign posted anyway. That's where we caught the gummie. I'm going to Inverloch on Sunday if the weather and better half permits. Mike_L
