Twinpower v Aspire

Im upgrading my old Sustain 4000 (the old gold color series). Was going to get a 4000 TwinpowerFC and found them for $389 ,as they have overtaken the sustains. Has anybody used the new aspires, i found them for $459. Basically want to know if the extra $70 bucks is worth It? Twinpowers are great, awesome drag for my inshore work up north. But have the Aspires got that much more to offer for that little bit extra.

the new twinpowers are not better than the new sustains

just because the new twinpower FC is most expensive than the sustain I wouldnt believe they are better, being told by a few people the sustains are still actually better

Got a new model twinpower 1000 the other day, nice reel for sure. But I also have a new model sustain 1000 and its slightly better than the twinpower. Both huge improvements over the previous models.

Definitely go the Aspire for the extra few dollars. My 4000 has been fantastic. I was going to change it to a Stella but really can't see the point, it is that good. It weighs about 70 grams less than the Twinpower which will make a difference over a days casting. I use mine with 30lb braid and do everything from jigging to bottom bashing with bait. It has plenty of drag too. Highly recommended.

Cheers, Dror

Perfect setup to fish with all day without breaking your arms and plenty of grunt to extract fish like this from the reef.

What rod do you have yours paired with Dror? i have a 7ft Starlo stix that i use up north out of the boat for throwing lures around with the sustain 4000 but was thinking of getting something a little more tougher with the new reel so it can be used as bottom bouncing aswell. Dont think the starlo stix would hold up to a decent reef dweller up north.

Ive got a feeling hes got that matched to a rapala braid concept. Ive got a 4000 exceller on mine and the 400 size reels are great, but ive killed this one just about...

The braid concept 15-24kg jigging rods are great bits of kit, I pulled a dhuie and some big breaksea on mine the other weekend, plus rankin cod, big trevors etc on it in exmouth. I actually used it to spin white leadhead jigs around exmouth too, not really the best rod for it, but it did the job.

Yep Yatesy's right. It's a Rapala Braid Concept. Pretty good rod for the money and well suited to light jigging and the like. As Brad said it isn't the best casting rod but does a good enough job for the few times I use it for that.

Cheers, Dror
