Different Lure Sizes

Have found that the bigger hb's like Scorp 52s do well in a system like Walpole yet I have limited success with them on the Swan / Canning where I have found the breamskis prefer the smaller lure like the SX40.

Has anyone else found this and why do you think this happens ?

im not from WA, but my only idea is that in walpole the bait is bigger/the fish eat them at a bigger size then in the swan?
