If your looking for quality reels you have forgotten a couple of zeros try $500-$1000
otherwise if you are looking for lower end gear, try a daiwa procaster in 2000 size rather smooth however a little heavy or a shimano sedona... abu cardinal...

I think around 100 bucks can find a good reel.. The shimano sedona or symetre around the mark and i would recomend them both.. I recon people sometimes go a bit over the top with reels.. Save the extra cash and buy lures or line.. Best bit with shimano you get a 10 year warranty

yer mate, u dont need to spend thousands on fishing gear, it may give u more plesure when ur out on the water, weigh less, look better or cast futher but none the less, u will still catch fish it cheap gear.
for around 60 bucks u can pick up a Shimano Sienna 1000 and still have change for sum line. their a great reel for the price, i had one as my first dedicated bream reel. cheers mate |

If you can squeeze to $120 the Abu Cardinal 802's are hard to beat value wise. Pretty hard wearing too.

Maybe hold of a bit. Ya might get a good second hand reel of the site. You missed out on a brand new Stradic 1000 a few days ago for $100! Im sure coming close to xmas there might be a few sales for extra dollars. Give it a couple of weeks if your not desperate.
Otherwise have a quick search on ebay, type in Shimano stradic and theres a few under $100 to bid on. This was my first reel and they are top notch.

You could get a brand new penn applause for around 100 if you look around. I can personally vouch for these reels as I own one and have caught some nice fish on it. Otherwise a second hand straddie or maybe an exceller.
Cheers

I got a brand new 750 size sedona off ebay for around or under $50. Havnt had many issues with it, nice little backup reel, Does get the odd wind knot but apart from that its got a good drag and will serve you well

My Dad always said,
Fish go for the tactic, style,& presentation of the lure etc;- that you put into you're fishing! I'm not having a go at anyone, but,I honestly wonder if a fish is going to take a peek out of the water & say "Wow" That rod & reel has lot's of "BLING & STYLE"??? And then decides to commit near suicide? I often think of that statement & have a good old chuckle to myself. Maybe,Dad was right ;-) Gae.

I've got a shimano sienna 1000 and a shimano sedona 1500. Both great reels, very smooth and up to the task for bream spinning with plastics. The sedona is about $ 100 and the sienna about $70. I think they are great value.
