Walking that doggy!

Hey all

Are there any topwater lures out there that will 'walk the dog' with minimal rod input ie slow straight retrieve?

I ask cos a long term hand injury stops me from putting continual small twitches in for very long.

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

I don't think any true walk the dog lures work without rod work. But there are quite a few paddler type lures that waddle on the top. Mini jitterbugs, tiemco cicadas, kokoda bats and kokoda bugger chugs all waddle back and forth on the surface using a straight retrieve.

The Zipbaits B-Switcher Craze can be worked on the surface or down to about 20cm as desired and wobbles along the top. Not what you'd call walk the dog though. Might help if you want some surface action without hurting your hand.

Theres a video of it on the home page HERE

(ps: I know there is a link there too my site, but given the question and the fact the video directly relates to the question I hope mods won't mind)

R2S Bubble pop 35, they have a nice action on a slow retrieve.

Thanks guys...maybe I need to experiment with some different rod angles to see if there's a comfortable position.

Halco had a great little lure at the tackle show - the Nightwalker 35. It's the same design as the larger night walker only in a 35mm version. Looks the goods for summer!

try the atomic cranks in the shallowest version. just use a real slow roll and they swim along the surface . it has been effective for me in the past.

Hi Monkey
I tie the tiemco cicadas (the one with a small bib)on for my kids they get that crazy walk happening.

Or just wait til your older and the parkinsons will do the shake for you.
Well, that's what my Wife says it looks like .

Also
Have a look at the river 2 sea humbug that is on another post.
Could be a help.
But you know what surface lure to get for the manning.
