alternative to sticky weight putty
at the last abt round here in tassie, Steve Morgan showed me an interesting product from storm. it was self adheasive lead tape. i think it came in a little packet pre cut in 25mm strips.
i think he told me he got it from the states and it wasnt available here in aust. i went i search of this stuff because it was so much better and easier to use than the lead or tungsten putty ive used in the past. i found on another forum somewhere that it is sold at golf shops, and they were right. its pretty much the same stuff, comes in a big roll so they just sell it per/m. hope this is helpfull to others. oh yeah, thanks SM. ![]() ben. |

no idea sorry peter, the golf shops usually keep it 'out the back' for adding weight to cusomers golf clubs (i think - i'm not a golfer) i just asked for 'self adheasive lead tape', took me 3 shops to find this stuff.
maybe some golfers out there could add more info?? they do sell little pre packaged stuff that is brand named but is little use to us as it is too thick and very expencive. all i know is its 1/2" or 12mm wide and about 0.2mm thick pic might help?? 200807120003.JPG |

hey fishyman, it wouldnt be cheap for 300m !!
i suppose with metal prices going up and up lately it will only go up too. i paid $5 per/m, which goes a very, very long way. when you concider the usual amount i use per lure is 20mm x 6mm. alot better than $15 for a tiny tub of putty anyway. i can imagine the storm stuff would be stupidly priced just because its in little peices and is packaged up with a brand name. ben. |
