shimano aernos oceania
Gidday all, just wondering if anyone knows anything about these reels in 1000/2000. Looking at getting a 3rd reel sometime in the near future for my spare stick. Very keen on a sustain but the missus can only take so much. I honestly wear the pants....when she lets me...bugger. Cheers Steve

Hey mate,
Can't help you with that model but have you looked at the Shimano Biomaster 1000? Just got mine and I love it! http://www.breammaster.com/forum/sho...mano+Biomaster - a quick run down of its specifications can be found there. Cheers |

Woops in regard to my last post, I mean that photo you posted is the Year 2000 or 2001 model I believe, wasn't refering to the reel size.

Yeah Steve, I got mine from Evan, I'd rather buy something I could actually handle etc before I buy it, so that's why I went with grabbing one from him instead of importing it myself or buying something else. I'd been looking for a new reel for a long time and was definetly convinced this was the one when I weighed everything up. Also it saved dealing with the hassle of importing so yeah, have a look at mine on the weekend and see what you think..

Get the Biomaster, Steve! Owned and used one for about 9 months and they are a great reel! If you aren't wanting to pay $260-odd imported, go for the Ultegra instead. One step down but twice as good as the Symetre (Aus. version) which is a bloody nice reel as well. I've also used that - identical to the Bio except 1 less b/b and therefore not quite as smooth (but still a damn sight better than what the Aus. market has to offer!).
What's the spare stick? cheers Chris

Hi Steve
I bought 3 of these reels last xmas. they are little rippers for the price. There are heaps of more exi reels about, but if you want something that is smooth, reliable, good drag and wont break the bank, they are excellent. I am a stupid old bugger who is still using several abu cardinal 4's that are 30 years old, while my missus and son are using all the latest gear. But I am toying with hanging up my old collecors pieces, even though they are still great, and using one of the several 'newer' reels I have been given for presies over the last few years. pete |
