Hey guys,
Its a weird topic i know :P but im just wondering how much fuel you guys burn on an average day out on the water with what motor.

I've got a 40hp 2 stroke on a 4 metre Hornet with a 40 litre tank and have not emptied it in one day yet. I use as little as 10 litres some days.

i average 60 to 80lt a day running a 150hp yammie vmax 2 stroke

I did a Walpole weekend with a run up the Frankland and the Deep Rivers and I'm still on full with the Optimax.

Bear, alot of our running around down here transitting in 5 knot zones (at least when fishing the Yarra/Nong/Docks) so not very efficient for a boat such as Brads,
(hence the overwhelming desire to "floor it" everywhere)

If your after economy go the Honda 4strokes. We have a 40hp on a Savage Jabiru 430 tournament. The fuel tank is only a 20 litre tank, and on a good day of floating round, ill be lucky to use less than half a tank.
We would probably cover at least 30kms of water if not more

That is also going at 5 knots for most of the way.

Can agree 50 Hp 4 stroke Honda uses as litte as 15-20 litres in a day runing around

Last 2 Classics I used 25l each round with a 25. 8 knots is a killer for my consumption but am looking at a prop swap when i get off my backside.

ive got a 150 yammie 4 and it does a 100km round trip on about 40 litres max

I guess that would be the benefits of a four stroke. That is pretty awesome economy really.

my 30 hp yamaha uses no more then 8 litres a trip ... and sometimes even less then that !

My last trip we did 94 km to 33l, sitting 4700/ 5100rpm. I have a tomcat with a 90 optimax.

Going pretty hard, I can get about 180klms out of 100l of premium unleaded in the Ally - 2.5l 200 Merc 2 stroke..................

I've never really run her flat knacker just to burn 100l of juice and see how far I get (I'd like to ).

If I hovered 4000 - 45000 rpm (45mph or so) I reckon I could do 250k's easy.

The Smartcraft gauges will be hooked up shortly, then I'll be able to tell exactly how much juice I use.

I did 2 trips from my house to Mandurah mouth (Comet Bay), then next morning flew up to Murray mouth (31 knots) and upstream (river speeds) to an MBA field day which took us just shy of Pinjarra. On the way home we changed tanks at Murray mouth. Totalled a little over 50km but my boat isn't economical at river speeds as it is trying to push onto the plane.
Averaged roughly .5 litre per kilometer with Tohatsu TLDI 50 (DFI 2 stroke) at high and low speeds on a 1648 Tracker Grizzly
