what kayak to get?

hi everyone,
I'm looking at buying a kayak to fish on the Central Coast of NSW, around Tuggerah Lakes etc. I have not had experience in a kayak for fishing. Can someone please tell me of a good kayak?

Cheers Coastie

Hi coastie
If you have a look at the kayak fishing websites they have some good reviews of heaps kayaks. try akff or kayak fishing stuff.

Hope this helps

Coastie,
have a look at the viking espri. They can be easily fitted out for fishing and won't put a huge dent in your wallet. They can also be easily taken offshore as I have seen some people on the akff do so. If I was getting a kayak i'd honestly be getting a espri.

cheers

i've got a viking espri, like Dell said, its probably the best option in that price range.
otherwise, if you had a bit more cash you could go for one of the models up from the espri, or another option would be the Ocean Kayak Prowler. don't know much about those but i've seen a couple really well set up.

Ben.

Hi Coastie
Did you try the factory I delt with Alex at Chermside Qld mine cost $2390 which included paddle, seat & battery box & delivery to WA appralently that was $190.
Also you can get one in good nick on the forums if you look around. There is one on the B.R.E.A.M forums for $1650 including extras or one for $1100 on AKFF
good luck
