Perth is on fire with the influx of Daiwa HL z's of late. Just wondering how all you guy's and gal's are finding them? I got one a few days back and managed to turn a 1.2kg very easily down JoJo's. Pretty impressed so far with both softies and hards. Craig S what did you end up getting on top of the No sinker??? Geoff P (for pronto) how's that dog box going after your second Z, always a spare room at Maylands bro. Thanks for the info this morning Cris L on the other Z's available, picked up a Team Daiwa Battler for trips up nth and any breamzillas on roids LOL. Cheers Steve

hey guys
where abouts are you getting the HLZs from around perth and what prices are you looking at- i know chris lemess shop has them in for $330, just wondering if there are any other places that are stocking them cheaper?? also any other recommendations for around the $250ish im not too sure yet if i can justify the extra money especially on an unwarranteed rod. thanks Ev |

Tim, I have just purchased that rod for crankbaits and it is excellent to say the least. I actually spent yesterday throwing around softbaits with it and found the distance casting was down a little but it still worked ok on jigheads down to 1/16th. But as you go up in weight size the rod performs better, it loves 3/32 heads
.As for the model code it is a little complicated: HLZ: Heartland Z 601 : 60 is 6ft and the 1 is the number of pieces LRS : The L is for the action "Light" dont know what the RS is for The ti is for titanium guides, if there is an s in front of the ti it is one of the solid slim models. Hope this helps. For those on the east coast I was in the Australian Bass Angler at Penrith the other day and they have the following models still in stock. I wish the missus didn't confiscate the mastercard HL-Z 591LXS-sti 4-8lb Spin HL-Z 595LRS-ti 3-5lb Spin HC-Z 601LRS-ti 3-6lb Spin HL-Z 601MMLXS-sti 4-10lb Spin HL-Z631LFS-ti 4-8lb Spin Team Diawa BA631MRS 5-8lb Spin HL-Z 682LFS-ti 2-4lb Spin Midge direct HL-Z 601MLXB sti Baitcast 6-12lb HL-Z621MLRB-ti Baitcast 6-12lb |

Jeez I'm getting jealous!!! I thought I had the silly tackle spending gene, but you guys are shockers
I'm gonna have to look at the Daiwa's, I seriously doubt if anything can come close to my Struddie though. Still, I need a back up for my back up Loomis, and there are times when a shorther rod might be useful when shore bashing...Uh oh, I think I just justified it Duncan |

Hey Steve...not sure about the Heartland Z's I haven't had the chace to use one yet (truth be known I don't have the dosh!) but I did see a guy on Saturday arvo with one and he cleaned up on almost every lure I've seen...softs and hards...I think his name was something like..."The Muscadine Maori"
I think he actually caught one backwards!!!Herds |

You never know, this could be the start of a new "long butt, runner-less rod" phenomenon which will sweep the lure fishing scene world-wide :-)

I just picked up one of the 3 Z`s Ive got lined up - this one was the Jerking Special 601LRS-ti, and I think the guys at work are getting sick of me casting plugs around the office today, but it hasn`t stopped them having a look..... And yes I did have another on layby before Id even got out the shop with this one.
We are all victims, and happy ones at that. cheers
