WABT Website Now Online

Still a lot of work to do, but I wanted to get this open up so we can start to better open up our information to everyone.

You'll see the site quickly grow over the coming weeks as well as the addition of some cool new features such as Angler Profiles, Tournament Venue pages, Google Earth links and more.

To kick things off I have started to build the information for Google Earth links. The first of these I have opened up in the Tournament Venue page for Walpole. When you open the page on the right hand side you'll see the Google Earth links. Simply click on a link you wish to check out and 'Open' from the windows dialog. This will open another window with a kml file. Click on the kml file and once again choose 'Open'.

This will fire up Google Earth (must be installed first) and zoom the globe to the location with a drawing pin. You can click on the drawing pin for more information such as web sites, images etc. I hope to have this grow over time. By all means add your own information to share via Google Earth through the Google Earth Community.

As I said, this is just a start, but I hope to be able to grow this quickly. As always, please feel free to send in any suggestions you may have for the site.

This is a good concept Bear. I've lost count the numbers of people who can't find tournament info on the BM site so a one stop shop for all info will certainly assist in the is regard.

Just a bit of an update. I have created a Gallery for WABT to make it a bit easier for everyone to view pics from comps.

To make things a bit more interesting I will also be adding links to the albums for each event so you can go straight to it from the venue pages. An example is now up and running in the Walpole page and I'll add the others as soon as I can.

I have also added pages for the AOY and Team Event rules to make it easier to find.

Just a little note to let everyone know that I'm starting to add Angler Profiles to the WABT website. You can find the link off the main page. It's up to anglers to let us know if they would like us to make any updates as well as add any sponsor logos to go in them. I'm afraid I just don't have time to chase everyone up.

I hope people get to know a bit more about the WABT anglers.

Well, to finish off for tonight I thought I'd let everyone know about a new section to the WABT website straight from the pages of the WA Fishing Magazine. Tech Spec has been a popular segment with many anglers and trys to go into some details about certain aspects of the gear we use. To kick things off I have uploaded Boat Batteries and Leaders. I hope this gets people thinking about the gear they buy and use.

Lastly, to wet the appetite I have uploaded the first of our articles as I finish putting together our Articles Page. It's a short special on paddle tail plastics. Enjoy.
