I've got a GR-65 that I use for beach work - and I've never had a problem with it.
Best fish on it to date was a 1.3 meter Shovelnose Shark - anyone who's had one on the end of their line can verify the difficulties in getting one in, and the GR-65 handled it very well  Would have prefered a Jewfish though..........
