Question To loop or not to loop

Well after laying low from work for awhile now lve had plenty of time to watch alot of fishing DVD's(may start a library)to fill in the hour's.
ln a episode of l-FISH(you either love these guy's or hate them..l love them )the guy's fished with a well known fishing icon in the form of Kaj Busch. Now it was the implementation of the now old sqiudgee flick bait's and it was made clear in the story that these plactics when fished on a jig should have no loop knot to aid action which l was suprised by no end, as l have always done so with bass minnow's and other stick bait's.
lve alway's wondered if l lost to much contact in forming a loop on plastic's of this type and other's.l will alway's on a bibbed hardbody no question but what about bibbless one's like Vibe's and the current new boy's like lipless Zipbait Raphael's.
Just when l think lm doing the righty someone blow's it out of the water.ld rather fish tight to a lure plastic or hard so as to give myself every chance to feel a fish's subtle nibble but not to the detriment of action.
So what do you do in these instance's, tight up or loop de loop.

Examles: Grub tails
Stick baits
Paddle tails
Vibes
Lipless crank's
Worms
Small poppers

Love to here all your answer's

Cheer's Steve...

Uni knot everything for starters. Jigs I do tight and hb's I leave a loop though I really should learn a loop knot cause once you've caught on a looped uni you've lost the loop.

Plastic action different to hb action. So, very light jigheads, more likely to use a loop. Hbs always a loop and not clips. Clips to me are lazy and one thing for sure, it that you lose action on hbs more often than not, unless the lure has a big action. Secondly, bream generally don't like clips at all. it's exception rather than the normality if you brain them with clips.

Anyway, back to the point in question...... Loops i think are a personal thing. Some people like loops on all weights. Does it make a difference overall in terms of performance, catch rate, etc? No, unless you're deciding to use heavier leaders than normally, say 16lb, which I commonly use around racks in Forster and Hawkesbury, then I'll think about the loop.

If you have confidence in using it, I would stick to it.

I tie to a tiny clip then clip on the HB or SP jighead, so therefore i spose i have a loop. But when i don't use a clip i don't tie loops, i simply can't be bothered.
