Daiwa Fuego

Ran into some extra cash so thinking about a new reel. Has anyone got a Daiwa Fuego 2000. I have a Sol and a Tierra already. Any opinions?

I don't own a Fuego but it looks like a variation of the Luvias, same weight, 1 less BB than the Luvias (I think). For the same amount of money, I'd rather go Luvias or better yet add just a little more for an Airity which is lighter yet again.

serviced a few and have had NO problems with any or them, fished with 1 of my clients in SA and he used 1, we would swap it around onto a few test rods i was designing last years and we both loved it...i use the SOL mainly, the airity was a change to a very classy and lighter finesse reel...
just note that the Fuego is one of the magnesium bodied reels...dont scratch the coating !!!

the TD fuego is a very good reel, the best iv used i cant find any fualts at all, the drag system is just unbalivable.
the reel in a whole is smooth as well as a 7kg drag
totally sealed gear box and drag so there's no need to worrie about salt water use. and its super light

i dont think you would look back.

i cant say 100% for the 2000 thow, im useing a 3000 but the 3000 has a smaller body than some 2500 daiwa's. when i picked it up i was sure it was a 2500.

hope this helps.

absolutely love the fuego. won the 2000 model in the gippy ABT this year and use it nearly every day of the week(smoko, lunchbreak, after work and serious sessions on the weekend) it holds plenty of line and is extremely smooth. i'm not entirely sure on the price but i'd be happy to buy another
