fly fishing 50cm brown

I was fishing a creek with my uncle that i fish with talapia stalker and gippsland_bream from afternoon to dusk and we came across lots of rising trout that were well over 2 pound so i tied on the famous red tag and gave it a go this was in the complete dark and i could only use the moon light to see if the fish took my fly. Eventually i lost that red tag and could not see to tie on another fly so i found a big elk hair caddis in my box that was tied on a bait hook that was big enough so that i could fit the line through the eye. I tied it on and first cast i saw some swirls and struck under excitement and managed to hook a nice brown my uncle was downstream and could not hear me screaming for the net so i grabbed the fish with my hands and landed it and it was a brown of 3 pound. I tried to release it but it didn't which was a shame i was in the water for 15 minutes to half an hour trying to revive it but failed to.here r some pics of the trout

amen to that,

that place is a bloody good fishery for a small river,
good to see that you've joined BM pickles.
