Has anyone had any experience with these lures.

I gave them a run last night while trying to get some jewies (didnt get any) but they seem alright. The little bream were having a go at it but no hook ups.

I bought them with freshwater in mind but has anyone used them in salt.

How would you compare them to more expensive rattlers like Jackals

I used them about 2 months ago when i was in QLD and they worked a treat on BIG sooties

But i think i was using a smaller size than that one.
also the hooks arnt all that strong and so need and upgrade.

Yeah sounds like sound advice.

But before I upgrade trebles I want to know they are guaranteed fish takers.

I've cast Jackals before but it was so long ago I cant remember how fast they sink or how slow they can be retrieved.

The Berkley Frenzy's seem to require a fairly brisk pace to keep themselves off the bottom in 12 foot of water. Maybe even faster than Jackals.

I usually cast suspending bibbed minnows so the transition to fast sinking rattlers is taking some adjustment. Mainly due to the speed with which they have to be retrieved to avoid weed in 12ft of water.

My standard retrieves rely very heavily on imitating a fish on its last legs. ie a fish that is giving its second last kick before giving up.

While typing I've just answered one question thats been bugging me - retrieval speed is reliant on depth. Ie 12ft means a faster retrieve is necessary - so taking that into consideration, I suppose what I really want to know is - do the retrievals speed required to keep a "Frenzy" off the ground in 9ft of water inhibit its ability to take fish.

Anyone with fresh water heavy rattler experience feel free to answer
