Luvias 2500/2506

Does anyone know if the 2500 and 2506 are the same reel with different spools or whether the bodies are different as well? I am contemplating getting a 2500 with a spare finesse 2506 spool but I'm not sure if it can be done.

think they would be . i tried getting one through a tackle shop in midland and they told me that the daiwa factory had stopped making the luvias . ive gone for a differant reel now and will be annoyed if they where just too lazy to get one. maybe some one could verify this .

could be wrong but my understanding was that Daiwa has discontinued the Airity but the Luvias was still being made

Have a look at some of the Japanese sites for relevant spool matches and/or give the guys from Campbells Tackle a call, they are usually pretty helpful with things of a Daiwa nature.

Any reason why they're discontinuing the luvias?
Is it being superceded by something else?

It also may be that Daiwa Australia have decided to discontinue importing/selling the reel not that Daiwa have discontinued making it......does happen from time to time.

anyone got any idea what they would bring in to replace it.
they leave themselves somewhat of a void between the SOL and the Certate without a Luvias or Airity.

The 2004 and 2506 are the finesse reels of the range. Definitely different from the 2500.

If you really wanted to, you can purchase the Luvias from Japan.

There are new reels coming out and will be as good as the already brilliant Daiwa models that we get here.

Super smoothe, top quality housing, great line lay without having to put tension on the line to get it back on the spool, but just pricey. Worth the expense? If you want the best quality reels going in the market at present and have been for a while, then yes.

Is it an absolute necessity? Not really.

I believe kamikazeghost is right.

The 2506 is a finesse model. They have a silent drag i think!

I don't go the 2500 daiwas as the handle is bigger than the 1500/2000 reels
