Nice reel, but way too pricey to waste on Bream.Plenty of quality reels under $200 that do as good a job.Bling for show ponies I think.

do you fish lures philbert? the reason i ask is mitchells arent designed for lure fishing with light lines whereas most of the $100 plus daiwa and shimanos are.
i agree a stella would be rediculous for baitfishing if thats what your referring to

Yes mate, only fish lures, mainly SPs for Bream.Seen all the latest high tech reels in action, and the little Mitchell keeps up with the best of them.Hasn't been serviced yet,but I rinse it under a hot tap after each session and it doesn't miss a beat.Thinking of an upgrade, but I'll wait for the old girl to die first.Think it might be a long wait though.A very underrated piece of kit,and obviously almost unknown amongst the fishing fraternity.

Way to make an impression Philbert. Been on the board 5 mins and you've attacked just about everything.

Now now gentlemen,we all have our opinions on various topics.Average anglers think that if you spend more money, you catch more fish and like to be seen with the best bling available. It's like the hacker with the $3000 set of golf clubs.I'm sure from reading the numerous posts on these forums, that the majority of the guys are genuine anglers, but there are a few out there that look like they are really out to impress.Grow up.

So what if they like to by the best gear. Some just like to have the best they can buy. I don't think the average angler here thinks an $800 reel is going to make you a better angler than the $320 one they might already own. I think it's just human nature, we like to have the best we can buy.

Why not???? You can't take it with you, and i think there are better ways to put it.

JMO.

You are correct up to a point. But in regards to catching Bream,a Penn Accord 1000 will compete favourably with a baby Stella. Not as refined I agree, but about $700 cheaper. It depends on the size of your bank account I suppose.A lot of fishos in S.A. swear by the little Penn's,and why wouldn't they.Great value for money, and pretty tough to boot.
