Mate they are both great reels in that price range.
I don't think you will go wrong with either one. I have 2 x 2000 SOL's and have no regrets at all great reels and very smooth drag. A mate of mine has 3 x T.P's 2500 and is extremely happy with them. I think it has to come down to personal preferences on what each reel has to offer. What ever your choice I think you'll be happy with them and I'm sure you'll have a great trip down Walpole. Cheers Simmsy. |

Hey mate,
I have a sol 2500 and i just love it, it is smooth, very good drag and i recomend it to anyone in that price range. But the twinpower is also a good reel, so which ever you choose you will have a very nice real to use and you won't be disappointed My vote: TD Sol Blake Last edited by Blake.T.; 19-01-2007 at 10:08 PM. |

I have a sic stic pro teamed up with a twinpower 1000. Two thumbs up for both.
Never used a Sol so I can't comment on them |

I just got two caldia kix 2004's- simialr design to the sol and they are amazing. I would go with the sol, simply because you have the drag power to stop a giant herring or monster skippy that frequent walpole.

Me personally I would go with the Twin Power. But that's probably because I'm more of a Shimano type person.

sol for me
i like the twin powers but just cant go past airbail and the "waterproof tournament drag system" in the daiwas, so smooth and can put out a heap of pressure for a small reel. im happy with my sol and its been over a year of solid use every weekend, with only one small problem that was fixed no problems. as has been said before you will be happy with either reel cheers luke |

Love my SOL - only got it recently, but it has handled every fish (and there havd been quite a few) beautifully. I have never felt as smooth a drag, it casts a mile and is all up a pleasure to use.
Go the SOL, unless you're a total shimano fan, of course!

I can't vouch for either reel Duncan but thought you might want to look at the warrenty on them both. I know you're unlikely to have probs but it's always great to know down the track.
just a thought anyway

that is tottally right ben, it shows how confident shimano are in their products with a ten year warrenty oposed to 5 year
