How Much Thrust?

I got a 5.3m Center console in need of a Leccy, Just wondering as a general guide, how much thrust will it need to have? 55 or 80lb? more? It'll be bow mounted if that makes a difference.

I would go 80lb.
I have 54lb motorguide on my hornet 435 and there are times i could use the extra grunt when fishing fast tidal waters.

Cheers

Go at least 80. I have the 74lb on the 5.5m boat that I have been using and that does the job but would not want to be any smaller.
The boat you have bought has a lot more windage than a low slung bream boat so you will need the power to combat this. The 55 just wouldn't cut the mustard.
My new boat is 5.8m and being a bay boat is a bit higher so I will be using at least an 80lb and if that doesn't work I will be looking at the 101lb.

Cheers, Dror
