Electric or Manual

hi Everyone

I have seen a couple of canoes out on the water and its a good idea for some hard to get to spot and small amounts of traffic.

Do you guys use an electric or small petrol engine 2-5hp or just regular paddles.

Cheers
Stuie

I decked out a canoe about five years ago for bream fishing in the swan river. I was going to go for a cheap stern mounted tiller steer electric. A simple bracket bolted to the side had the tiller right beside you for ease of operation.

Stuie,
I haven't purchased my craft yet, but within the year i hope to have a boat.
At this stage i'm still slightly leaning towards a flat back canoe, which i will use both electric and paddles.
My guess is paddle to the spot,.........motor around the snags and then home.

boys

i bought a coleman x 15 canoe about 4 mths ago and its brilliant
its very wide so realy stable.
i use it around the swan, the only problem ive found with it is when the wind picks up its a bit hard to steer, so im not normaly to far from the shore when this happens, id say it weighs about 45 kgs so getting it on and off my ute and to the water isnt a problem
i bought mine for a $1000 new out of my local tackle shop u could perhaps get it a bit cheaper if u shop around, but i just had to have it, and luckly i had the money at the time, but u could proberly buy one second hand for half the price, if ya wanna look around

im just building a new house and in the garage ive made some brackets that hang down from the roof so when i drive in i just hook the canoe up and its clear of the car, takes about a minuite to do
