The End of Another Series - Your Feedback Please

As always Ladies and Gents, we like to have your feedback\ideas as we move onto our next series.

One we are thinking of is to make the southern events 2 comps over the weekend with a late start on the Saturday for those who wish to travel.

Any others appreciated.

Bear I like the idea of a double header. Certainly will save some money.

I also would like to see a handicap system introduced where Mark only fishes with one arm or starts 4 hours after everyone else or fishes without a leccy

Petrol Money

Bear, I believe that all of the current entry fees go into prizes, but I think that there should be some allowance for your travel to be deducted from the prize pool first.

To do the organising, travel, weigh-ins and be counted out of the winnings seems a bit harsh. Whether you choose to take the full cost of petrol or a fixed amount, I don't think the other competitors would begrudge either?

I know what it cost me to travel to Torbay, but I was in with a shot at the dosh.

After the great weigh-in results at Torbay, it would seem a waste to take it from the calendar, maybe a good spot for a double header with Nanarup (like Brad), perhaps earlier in the year.

Murray Bend ramp may also be a good spot for a round, away from the Yunderup boat traffic and close to the great snag territory the Murray offers.

Mark

We'll be swapping ramps on the Murray depending on the time of the year for sure.

Now thinking about a 5th comp each year to be able to have a southern double header.

Well done to all the guys who killed it this season...looks like I missed out on some fun rounds. Can't wait for the new season!

Bear how do you see this series getting more cash up for prizes? I know a lot of people just love the fun of competing whether its for a prize pack or enough cash to cover their entry cost, but im sure theres some who might take it more seriously or choose not to fish because its not worth the cost of actually competing. I think a higher cash prize pool would be an excellent incentive compared to say better products. Particularly when you take into account the complete travel costs etc, with a serious cash pool we might see more anglers doing the miles for the southern rounds or just more competitors in general. I guess one way is increasing the entry fees, and as Mark is saying it would be good to see it work both ways.

Anyway thought it was worth a mention, anyone got anything to add?

Hi Mitch,
Biggest problem is more prize money means higher entry fees. We are trying to get more sponsors involved to raise the stakes as well.

I take that back, upstream of the "bend" is a cesspool of dirty water and floating scum and downstream is a blowies' holiday centre.

Mark blowies move in squadrons up to and past Pinjarra. I say we all stand at the ramp and throw in 4 or 5 packets of plastics each and then head to the pub for a beer. The last one standing takes home the kitty

optional pool

as i suggested before have a optional pool like they do in the uk,away from the main prize list, just say e.g 20bucks each and you can pay say the top 2or 3 or the top 2 out the main list all the money paid in go,s back out just remember you don,t have to go in it ,but if you think your good enough, go for it,the times i have seen underdogs not go in it only to end up top 2 they were gutted it adds a bit of extra edge to the comp plus extra CASH to,its normally run by some one who is not invloved with the main prizes he writes everyone down in a book and holds the cash till the end,or i even seen it where he hangs a little chalk board up with amount of people entered and the payout don,t mind helping out if every one wants to do this and wabt are kool

Bear how about a two day event in either the swan - Garret rd to guilford launch at redcliffe and day two launch at Maylands up to Garret rd down to wherever. Get the young ones back into it, they missed out this year as there was no perth event.

or

a two day event at the blackwood using the Bridge as the midpoint. you could then encourage the Busselton High kids to enter
