Something For All Breamers - Mounts Bay Sailing Club

Over the past few years, WABREAM and WABT have been in touch with a number of groups in an attempt to give Breamers another dimension to their angling.

It's always been our aim to expand the social side of our fishing addiction so that Breamers can meet, chat and generally socialise without having to fight for river bank and ramp space.

Well, I'm pleased to announce that we have finalised an arrengement that I hope benifits us all. With HUGE thanks to Mounts Bay Sailing Club, we now have a place we can call our own.

The arrangement we have come up with is that all Breamers can become Social Members of the Club at a discount price to Breamers only (more on that soon). As a Breaming member, you get access to all of the facilities including bbq's, ramp, parking, member's bar (at member's prices) and more. Access to the Club ramp is available every day, the only thing Breamers have to be aware of is that Sundays get busy with sailing commitments, we are planning on using Saturdays for Breamers events.

Another great advantage is that the Club will work together with WABT in the future to give us a Perth home for tournaments, Breamer's Days and Information Nights.

As the group expands, the Club is happy for Breamers to run their own Club comps, social days and more. This is a great opportunityfor us all to build something we can ALL be a part of.

So, down to the cost.

Social membership will be $150 annually for the registered owner of the boat and $50 for each adult family member after. If we have a call for junior members, then please let me know so I can go back to the Club.

The $150 also includes $100 in Club vouchers. I'll have all of the details on the vouchers soon.

For those who are keen, membership forms will be available on Friday night. If you'd like to know more, please fell free to drop me a PM and I can let you know more.

One thing I did forget, there is an additional $8.50 fee that applies to all Club members for WA clubs.

This is a really positive step forward in my opinion. A place we can all go to and catch up, have our events, meet more people and interstingly, get a bit of an inside into what each party does. No doubt they will probly want to have a gander at our boats and fishing and we will do vice versa. Im sure we will see some new members come through as well because of this. Not to mention, imagine the final presentations and weigh in with such a sunday crowd!

Congratulations on securing such an exciting opportunity WABT, and thank you to the Mounts Bay Sailing Club for this opportunity.

Now i need to move to Perth

Haha are we able to call it the "Breamers Bar?"

That all sounds sweet. $150 well spent I reckon. Do they sell crownies?

Seriously tho, it will be great to use a private ramp for security reasons and crowding at other ramps on weekends.

The social side will definately improve having a base to work from.

Thanks to MBSC and WABT for the association

Defintely up for that, just another thing to save up for Maybe it can be a prize in the comp

The other big benifit is a place for a quick toilet break that is kinda central to all fishing

WOW, with having to become a member at EFYC for my wedding and now MBSC I am going to have lots of places to stop off for a refreshing brew

You where to slow. The church and reception centre have been booked. I guess if MBSC is way better then we may change, maybe they will give -HUGE- discounts for breammers getting hitched there

Just to let everyone know, I have left a pile of membership forms at Angler's Paradise for those who wish to join. We're hoping to have an information night soon.

Thanks,

Shouldn't be a problem Don. I'm hoping to get in touch with Marisa to get current numbers so we can organise our first meal night. Mullet and will be off the ramp this weekend.

Don

I used the ramp on Saturday - relatively shallow (as in not at a steep angle) and you need to back the trailer in a fair way to make sure you don't drop the boat onto the ramp. So you may get your feet a bit wet.

But otherwise fine, had the ramp to myself - stress free launch and retrieve.

As it's quiet during the week we're fine to park in the grounds. if it's a busy weekend there is free parking on the verge just outside the gate.

HTH.
