Newbies Boat

Just started topost on this site and thought I might wack up a pic or two of my little tinny.

I've fitted it out myself the best I can. The next investment is a foot controled Leccy. I have a Trans mount but would be better with foot controled bow mount.

Thanks Dylan.

I love working on it u can a real kick out of doing it yourself. Thats not to say that I would love a boat all nicly done from factory.

Would love a Quiney 420 Explorer Trophy ( may have to settle for a 395 to fit in the garage) On the other hand I would lke to bulid one up from a hull.

Nice work you've done there Bretto! Love it!

I've got the 395 Explorer Trophy and same reasoning as you; my garage couldn't take anything bigger, with the trailer and the motor down, just too long. I would have loved a 420 ET or a 400 Hornet. Ah well, but I'm happy with it.

G'day Lone Ranger

Your ET looks great in your profile pic. Do you have any pics of the layout?

howdo you find the size of the 395? I want to get into some comp fishing with my son when he gets a bit older and was hoping that the 395 would fit the bill.

I wasn't keen to leave a boat outside , rather have it loked away.

yor boat looks like it is set up for comps. do you get involved?

sorry for all the questions.

Hi Bretto, yes, it is fully set up for a comp, in case I wish to fish the summer social comps or any other social comps. I don't have any photos except for the old ones posted. Do a search and you should see it including the livewell. If you want any other photos, PM me and I will email them to you. As to how I find the size 395, well seriously, I have never driven a boat in my life or ever owned one before thus have nothing to compare with , so it's great. Bigger would be better of courses. Main thing I don't like is because I have an electric start, battery had to do right under the motor instead of the starboard side (as with bigger boats) as somehow the 395 won't take it on the side as too small, in addition I have a livebait tank built in on the same side. And the motor splashwell is riverted down right on top of it! Extremely difficult to access the battery in the case of an emergency. Shouldn't be a problem for guys as most don't have an electric start. Livewell could have been built a lot better, don't get me started! I turned the storage compartment into the livewell thus there is now no storage room which is a real pain indeed. Deck space is also limited as I have the DC sitting on the floor, would be nice to have it under the floor. Oh well, beggars like me can't be choosers.

PM if you want any other infor.

Cheers LR

My front casting deck is totally different from what is on the Quintrex web and the catalogue as well. Have a look at the picture above. The rest should be the same as on the Quintrex web (below) I am assuming , who knows I will measure it for you and PM you the details.

HTHs.

Oh just found this photo, I have deleted the rest of the old ones. It's the closest thing to show the inside of the whole boat. Hope this help. Let me know if it doesn't show what you want and I will take some shots. Unloading photos onto the PC is a bit of a pain as I don't deleted photos off my camera and the whole thing reloads yet again.

Nice boat mate very tidy, good use of space.
Now we need a couple of follow up bream pics....
Once again you've done a good job on it.

Thanks DSR

I wanted to extend the casting deck out to about where the front of my live well is. This would mean that I could incorporate the live well into the front deck. My plan was to make so that the live well butted up against the front seat and the I could fill in the gaps between it and the sides to complete the deck. I was going to mount all this off the live well with custom welded brackets. This way it could all be removed when I take the whole family bait fishing.
Because the bot is only small I was also going to install a custom lean seat mounted in the front seat.

Kickass job on the fitout there Brett. I got a 385 Explorer Trophy with exactly the same colur carpet by the looks of it haha
I got mine second hand, casting decks and stuff were already done. Fished a comp and after that was gonna pull up the floor and get a livewell put in, at the end of the day though i'm a very very lazy man and it never happened haha.
I'm in the same boat as you (pardon the pun haha), don't have the room for anything bigger. That said i'm looking at a new boat, and if it has to go in storage it will
Cheers
Duncan
