This is just a quick thankyou to all of you guys that helped me out in my Daiwa SOL, Luvias, Kix thread. It is a little strange I know, but I was swayed back to good old Shimano after checking out the above reel and falling in love. I will post a copy of what I just put in another thread with a picture of the reel. Anyone who is in the market for a new reel in this price range would be mad to not check these out before making a decision.
Regards Dave

I got one of these today and it's insane. It's a new Shimano Twinpower 2500FB (also available in a 1000FB) Check it out you will be very impressed. I was going to get a Daiwa as per my other thread, but this is just in another league IMO. Also it's made in Japan unlike the Sol and some of the other Diawa's in this range.
Sorry to hype on but if you have read the other thread you will know that I was set on getting a Diawa, however I was a little worried about the quality of some of the ones I had seen in the shops and turned my attention back to Shimano. I like the fact that the Twin power is all AR-B bearings (7+1) not just some, as I use my gear in heavy salt all of the time. The new Twinpower's are very similar to the Stella's only half the price. Regards Dave

Once again thanks to everyone who helped me out. Sorry if I have offended anyone in making this decision but in my opinion it was the only way to go as explained above.

The pictures don't do it justice. You will fall in love like I did. I think I will have to break it in tomorrow night or Saturday if the weather stays as it is at the moment.
Regards Dave ![]() p.s. here is another shot from Shimano Aust and they are alot smaller than you would think. Same if not smaller than Daiwa's 1500's

Very cool looking reel. How much?
Yeah, the 1000 size higher end Shimano's are a sweet size, very compact. |

Both the TP1000FB & TP2500FB are $299.00 from Campbell's Pro Tackle over here in Perth.

Thanks there TopEnder.
Very nice looking reel, although it is still big bucks for me. Maybe a second hand one may float my way. Does the 1000 have the T handle knob or the little Septon finger grip? |

Hey Shortlite the 1000 does have the little Septon finger grip instead of the T knob (which I believe is also made from Septon)
Went for a fish last night and to describe the reel as awsome would be an understatement. The drag and just everything about the reel is silky smooth. Did o.k. christened it with a nice little flathead followed by a couple more (on vibes). As the night progressed I got the usual blowies and the I struck a school of 25-30cm bream and had a ball for an hour or so. Track one of these reels down you won't be disapointed. I believe the older models (non japanese) are not even in the same league so becareful in the second hand market. Regards Dave
